Putting women first

This month we focus on issues affecting women who so often pick up the pieces when things go wrong, who spend their lives caring for their families and much, much more.

The launch of the Burngreave Domestic Abuse Project is just one of the new initiatives adding to the support available for women, but as Kate Atkinson discovered when she spoke to local women (More than mothers...) more is still needed.

March 8th is International Women’s Day. As women on all continents come together to celebrate and look back on the centuries old struggle for equality, justice, peace and development we hope that Burngreave will become a place where women will be empowered to take a leading role in transforming our diverse area.
